Attention 3D printing enthusiasts! Adobe marks their conference today with a special announcement regarding updates to Photoshop CC, Lightroom Mobile, Lightroom Web, Photoshop Sketch and Photoshop Mix. This includes some new 3D printing profiles for Photoshop CC.
At Adobe Max: The Creativity Conference, Adobe confirmed that they will be providing enhanced 3D support for Photoshop CC, including the ability to read CALLADA rigging and animation data. In line with the latest trends—and their agenda to encourage creativity, push the envelope, and provide more ways to maximize productivity, Adobe continues to provide better ways to enjoy 3D printing with their products.

In their third release to Photoshop CC in just four months, Adobe announced 35 new features. They will be shipping ‘a milestone release’ of Creative Cloud that ‘transforms how creatives work across desktops and devices.’ On the 3D printing side, you can look forward to:
- COLLADA Rigging Support: Users can import animation and rigging data from COLLADA files, and continue to paint, finish or refine 3D objects. You can also leverage the existing animation data and Photoshop Timeline to create promotional videos.
- Support for 3D PDF Files: Now you can export 3D models to PDF to be reviewed and manipulated in Adobe Acrobat. Colleagues can view, comment and review 3D models without requiring access to Photoshop or PSD files.
- New Printer Profiles: New features include built-in options for 3D printers and printing services, such as iMaterialise, new MakerBot printers and Ultimaker.
The conference runs for three days from October 4-8 in Los Angeles, CA, and offers pre-conference labs and creativity workshops. With events being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Nokia Theatre L.A., the conference offers presentations, labs, and events, where they “bring together a mix of people—from creative leaders, designers, broadcast and video pros, tech and business strategists, photographers, and more.”
“The pace of innovation continues to accelerate with Creative Cloud and today we are introducing a new family of mobile apps that are deeply integrated with flagship CC desktop tools, like Photoshop and Illustrator, and taking mobile devices into the creative mainstream,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president, Digital Media, Adobe. “Also, new capabilities, such as Creative Talent Search, show that Creative Cloud is evolving into an increasingly powerful resource for our millions of members.”
